On the Standing Indian Trail

Before Erin left town, we spent one day hiking Standing Indian in the Nantahala National Forest. Standing Indian is a summit on the AT. We had a lovely picnic at the top of the mountain in the laurel forest at the top of the mountain. It was rad running into through hikers (folks who are walking the whole thing) on the Appalachian trail who had just started their journey in North Georgia at the Southern end. It would be such an epic experience to hike the AT! I just got my very first pair of nice hiking boots and am breaking them in, but I am ready to do some more hiking; I miss my hiking buddy Erin!
